‘Recycling metal into bespoke art’
I recycle because second-hand metal is an abundant material in Exeter, Plymouth and surrounding South Devon. The cutlery and scrap metal comes from charity shops, industrial units, farms and bike shops.
The work honours the environment and celebrates the wonder that animals bring to life. These sculptures are realistic representations and I pay particular attention to movement, form and behaviour.
I love to connect with the beauty of creation. Twice a year I have an open day, at my workshop near Topsham, Exeter. It is wonderfully situated on the No.2 National Cycle Network, (Exeter to Exmouth); walking distance from Topsham railway station and 'RSPB reserve 'Bowling Green Marsh' and a 5 minute walk from Darts Farm. I hold an open day every March and October. It is a great way to see how I work. You will see how I start from photos, drawings and progress to models and then metalwork. I usually do my best to stick signs and balloons out to promote it
